Professional Visit Pass PVP

For expatriates seeking a temporary professional visa, it is recommended to apply for a Professional Visit Pass (PVP). The PVP is issued to foreign workers and professionals who possess the necessary qualifications and skills.

Qualified Working Roles

There are six categories that applicants must satisfy at least one of to be eligible for the Professional Visit Pass (PVP). These categories include:

Expertise Transfer

Examples: Installation & Repair of Machinery and Equipment Specialists, Technical Advisors

Research

Examples: Researchers, Research Assistants

Training

Examples: Professors, Lecturers, Speakers

Volunteers

Exhibitors regulated by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB)

Important Information

The Professional Visit Pass (PVP) is valid for a maximum of 12 months and is non-renewable, requiring a new application after expiration.

Applicants must apply for the PVP from outside Malaysia, in their country of origin.

If there is a change of employer while the PVP is still valid, the holder must cancel the current pass and serve a three-month cooling period before reapplying.

PVP holders are not eligible to apply for Dependent Passes for their family members.
