The Malaysian Residence Pass – Talent (RP-T) is a 10-year multiple entry visa. This document is independent of any employer and is aimed at foreign talents in NKEA sectors who can contribute to Malaysia’s economic development.

The qualifications for an RP-T include:

Have prior work experience in Malaysia for a minimum of 3 years.

Hold a valid Employment Pass (EP) during the application period.

Hold a certified PhD/Masters/Degree/Diploma from an accredited university or an equivalent professional/competency certificate from a recognized institution.

Accumulate a total of 5 years of professional experience.

Maintain a minimum basic income of RM15,000.

Possess a valid income tax file number and provide evidence of paid income tax for at least 2 years.

The benefits of an RP-T include:

The pass holder will be granted permission to reside and work in Malaysia for 10 years, with the possibility of renewal.

The spouse and children (under 18 years old) of the RP-T holder will receive a Resident Pass, with the spouse having the opportunity to seek employment in Malaysia.

Dependents of the RP-T holder (children over 18 years old, parents, and parents-in-law) will qualify for a 5-year Social Visit Pass.
