Purchase Residency Property in Malaysia

Applicants need to purchase a residency property to live in Malaysia. The property can already be owned before the application.

Below is the property value for different levels of visas

  • Platinum level – price at least RM2 million
  • Gold level – price at least RM1 million
  • Silver level – price at least RM500,000
  • Special Zone – price is defined by the state government of Special Zones

If the property has not been purchased at the time of application, it must be purchased within 24 months after approval. Otherwise, the approved visa will be cancelled.

Age Restriction

All applicants in Special Zone must be at least 21 years old. In Platinum, Gold and Silver Classes, the applicants must be at least 25 years old.  No age limit for the spouse.

Children must be below 34 years old. Children whose age is 21 years old and above must be single in marital status and can’t be employed in Malaysia.

Fixed Deposit Bank Account

Upon Approval, all applicants have to make a Fixed Deposit based in Malaysia, as follows:

All MM2H Applicants:

  • Must place a Fixed Deposit in a bank account in Malaysia with the following amounts: 
    • Platinum- USD 1,000,000
    • Gold- USD 500,000
    • Silver- USD 150,000
    • Special Zone- 21-49 years old: USD 65,000; 50 years old and above: USD 32,000
  • Can withdraw maximum 50% from the deposited amount for the purchase of house, medical expenses, children’s education expenses  and travel expenses in Malaysia after the deposit has been placed for 12 months
  • Must maintain a minimum balance of 50% deposited amount from second year onwards and throughout stay in Malaysia under this programme.

Duration In Malaysia

Those who obtain the Second Home Visa need to stay in Malaysia for at least the number of days indicated below:

1) West Malaysia Second Home – stay in West Malaysia for at least 90 days per year (The applicant below 50 years old must be either him or the dependents at least one person comply this requirement)

2) Sarawak My Second Home – stay in Sarawak for at least 30 days per year (Applicant and dependents must comply this requirement)

 

The Immigration will approve any application for visa renewal/or visa extension based on the above conditions.

For example: Those who obtain the 3-year West Malaysia Second Home Visa must prove that they have been in West Malaysia for at least 270 days in the past 3 years.
